I have a Control 4 and a Clarisea sk-5000 filter roller. I watched the recent video on CVtv where Carlos & Dave showed how you can connect the motor of the Klir filter roller to the drive port on a Control 4 and how you can replace the water sensor on a Klir filter roller with a hydros water sensor. Pretty cool.

This got me wondering if I could do the same thing with my Clarisea filter roller. Both the Klir and the Clarisea operate with 12 volt motors, so the drive port of the Control 4 should be able to run the Clarisea motor just like it does with the Klir. Any thoughts?

If it has a 12V motor it should work fine. It will spin the wrong way if you get the polarity backwards but that is easy to fix.

Yes, it can. All you need to do is DIY a power cable that connects to the Drive Port on your Control unit.

Jeff posted a cheat sheet to the pinout, but for Drive Ports, it is super simple. Since you are using only two pins, black goes to pin 1, and red goes to pin 2.

All you need is a GX12-2 and a cable with a barrel that matches the size of the ClariSea.
