How to test the temp sensor

I just had a LFS special order me a Control 4 and the temp sensor is not responding. Support says I need a detailed receipt before they'll send a replacement but my LFS is old school and don't print detailed receipts. I would really like test the temp sensor to see if it's just incorrectly wired on the plug so I can potentially fix it. Can anyone tell me what color wires are soldered to which pins on the temp sensor?

The temperature sensor connects to Ground, +5V and the digital IO pin. Sorry but I don't know the colors but I am pretty sure black is ground, red is +5V and whatever is left should be connected to the digital IO line.
