I've had my control 4 and wave engine up and running trouble free for a few months now. Unfortunately, it seems my luck has run out.

Issue 1: I noticed yesterday that my temperature dropped way more than normally overnight. At some investigation, it turned out the wifi plug strip that controls my heater had lost communication with the control 4, but the control 4 continued to think it was connected. The plugs were also stuck in the off position- not on like stated by Coralvue. The problem persisted after re-pairing the plug strip. Luckily, I had another strip on hand and it is working.

Issue 2: Today, both my control 4 and wave engine stopped responding in the app. I tried resetting the wifi router and the units- no change. My alkatronic and kasa plug strips on the same network work fine. I can connect to both using Bluetooth, but the control 4 doesn't show any of my inputs or outputs.

I did install both the recent firmware updates for the control 4 when they were released. Is there anything else I can try? I am hoping to avoid a factory reset- I spend a lot time setting the control 4 up.

The wave engine has blue leds with a green and white racing pattern. I was able to get it back up by connecting it to my main network, then switch it back to the 2.4ghz network.

No such luck with the control 4. It's pulsing green, but occasionally it'll blink red a couple times.

Also, my control 4 is part of a collective of 1 because originally I thought wave engine could be part of it. How can I remove the collective and revert the control 4 back to a single device?

The Wave Engine in the collective is in the works. I would just leave the Control 4 in the collective.

Well, too late for that. I deleted the control 4 from the cloud and readded it. Now, it's separate but I still have a empty collective with no clear way to remove it. I can now connect to the control 4 but it's still pretty janky. The inputs are there, but the history is gone. Two of the wifi strips are gone along with three of the outputs from one of the missing strips. The outputs from the other strip missing strip remain. I'm seeing the device not responding error flash pretty frequently then it returns to the normal state.

You can always run the WiFi setup as if it was new. Follow this link, starting with Step 3.

Then, once you are connected back to the cloud, you can always restore them from the cloud if your settings are still missing. Follow this link, starting with "How To Restore Your Configuration" under the Cloud Backup section.

I removed the collective from your account since it is empty. Any reason why you have a collective of ONE? It is the same as a single device. The collective only adds benefits when you have MULTIPLE devices and not just one. In your case, I would just leave it as Control 4 until you get more HYDROS devices and then you do need to create a collective to bring them all together.

Leave the C4 as is and then go to the Cloud Archive and restore your settings as explained here:

Unfortunately, the only backups are from long ago- maybe because it was part of the collective. Seems collectives in general aren't working too well for me. I tried adding the control 4 back to the existing collective and to a new collective with no success. On its own, it seems fine after the factory reset. I'm going to the process of recreating everything manually.

Forgot to mention- I get timeout error when selecting delete device on either of the two collectives (I think that how they're suppose to be deleted).

Collectives work best when there are multiple devices. When there is only one device, you are making things more complicated than they should be. We found a bug on Collectives of ONE device fixed on Firmware 178, so from now on, a collective of 1 should be the same as no collective.

Did you download and save your configuration to your computer as a JSON file? If you did, then we can restore the file without any issues.

Yes, you have multiple collectives. Let me know when I can go in there and delete them for you. I don't want to try to delete them while you are still in the app. If you do, then you will overwrite my changes. It is best if I go into your account while you are completely out.

No reason to have the collective until the wave engine is supported. Though, you should consider disabling it if it's not stable.
I'm on firmware 178 and experiencing these issues. It was made a collective of 1 before the firmware update.
Unfortunately, I never made a local backup of just the control 4. But, I am done editing things. If you could remove the unused collectives, that would be great.

I’m running to the same problem now as well. I tried factory resetting the control 4 and the wave engine as well and I still cannot get it to work. What did you do to fix everything?

Please, submit a ticket at CoralVue Support Portal, where we can ask you questions about your account, and that will allow us to help you fix the problem.
