Changelog for Monday, May 24, 2021:
- Control X4
- Control X2
- Control XS
- WaveEngine
- IceCap WiFi Controller
IMPORTANT: Firmware 186 requires App 199. To update to firmware 186, you must download App 199 first. If you are using the web app, please clear your browser's cache so it updates to the new app as well.
NEVER, EVER, EVER update your firmware if you are not in the same location as your controller.
As always, you can also control your devices using our CoralVue HYDROS Web App. (Be sure to clear your browser's cache and refresh so that the app updates to the latest version.)
Release Highlights:
- You can now add the WaveEngine to the Collective - HYDROS WaveEngine - Adding to Collective.
- RODI Preset with stateful is not available - HYDROS Control - How To Add a RODI Filter
- On the WaveEngine/IceCap Controller, Presets and Triggers have been combined into a single location called "Schedules" - HYDROS WaveEngine - How to Create a Flow Schedule - Help Page.
- Push Notifications are now available (replaces SMS notifications) - HYDROS Control - How to Enable Real-Time Notifications.
- WaveEngine Flow Patterns have been added to the Control, and you can use them with 0-10V pumps without the WaveEngine.
- Cloud backup and restore have been added to both WaveEngine and IceCap WiFi Controller.
- Pages have been added - HYDROS Control - Backup & Restore.
Installation instructions:
BEFORE you do that, please do read the following:
- Once you update the firmware and upload, you CANNOT downgrade the unit or revert to the old firmware.
- The update will automatically update the WaveEngine to match the way the control works.
- Pumps are treated as OUTPUTS. To add a pump, you go to OUTPUTS and add the pump to add a simple pump on the Control.
- PRESETS and TRIGGERS are now combined into SCHEDULES. The schedule will allow you to select a flow pattern, give it a schedule, and assign pumps to it the same way you assign INPUTS on a GENERIC OUTPUT.
- You can now run scheduled on certain days of the week.
- You can also now run schedules based on the Nth day.
- You can assign pump positions on the schedules so you can have one pump be "Same Side" on A schedule while "Opposite Side" on schedule B.
- You can now assign pump direction on the schedule, so if you want to run Pump A only in reverse for a couple of hours, you can do that now!
To update the WaveEngine to the new firmware:
- Head over to the download firmware screen and tap on "Download 186."
- Tap on the "Install 186" button and wait for your WaveEngine to restart.
- After restarting, connect to the WaveEngine and go to the STATUS screen. IT WILL BE EMPTY! Tap on the "Upload Required" orange bar at the bottom. This will "convert" all your settings from the old flow to the new one.
You can now bring your WE into the collective, but before you do that, please know the following:
- You must be running app 199 or greater.
- Your WaveEngine must be running firmware 186
- The WaveEngine CANNOT be a Collective WiFi Master, so set the WaveEngine to NEVER.
- When you bring your WaveEngine into an EXISTING collective, the WaveEngine will be imported EMPTY!!!! This means that you will need to program it again within the collective when you bring the WE into the collective. Unfortunately, there is no way around this, and it is in line with any devices brought into an EXISTING collective.
- Connect to your Collective and make sure you can see your STATUS
- Tap on the upper-left-hand-corner hamburger menu and then select "Devices."
- Tap on the + symbol at the bottom of the page
- Select your WaveEngine
- IMPORTANT: Set the WiFi Priority to "Never"
- Upload your changes
Once your WaveEngine is part of the collective, it will restart, and then, the LEDs will change to the same color as the Control units. Notice the green LED at the top of the unit letting you know the WE is now part of a collective.
If you see a white LED at the bottom of your WE, that means that you have a WE-ETM version!
!!!! --- WaveEngine/IceCap Controller Warning --- !!!!
- Your old configurations will be automatically imported to the new Outputs/Schedule format. That being said, YOU SHOULD STILL DOUBLE CHECK SETTINGS to make sure things were properly imported.
- Once you update your WE/IceCap Controller to the new firmware, you MUST upload your changes. There is an orange bar telling you "Updates Required" so please, upload the changes when you see that orange bar! If you do not upload the changes, then the migration will not be completed!
- If you add your WE to your collective, ALL settings on your WE will be lost. Settings ARE NOT imported to a collective. Make sure to write these down before adding to a collective.
!!!! --- HYDROS Control Warning --- !!!!
- Water Sensor / Skimmer Sensor INPUTS - We added the ability to trigger an alarm when the sensors are WET or DRY. If you have a sensor created, please make sure that the alarm will trigger in the correct state for your setup.
- Collectives and Button Boxes - You must go into the OPTIONS menu and reselect the "Mode Control Input" so it is set to the correct device where your button box is connected to. Once done, upload your changes!
