Has anyone tried running a 12 to 24v converter on the battery backup leg so it gets 24 at all times on low power mode?
You can't, battery port cant handle 24V. You can only bump the output ports. Check out my DIY on how to do this for jebao pumps.

Trying to connect my AI Hydra 64. New to Hydros. I was able to figure out how to get the Launch going, then an X4, create a collective and add a Kraken and soon to be a Wave Engine2 (once I get the power cord).

As far as the AI goes, I’ve got it on a Force Port 24v with an adapter. I bought the package of like 25 adapters, the ones recommended on the Hydros Installation manual. Perhaps Im not using the right one? It fits nicely on both ends.

The button on the AI is blinking red.

Any ideas on the AI?

Looks like the Hydra is a 36V. Bummer

Im sure now that it doesnt. 36v
They do make DC to DC converters that will boost the voltage up fro 12-24v to 36v but you need to make sure the current at 24v will still be below the limit for the force port. That would add a box similar to the power supply that it already uses so it may be better just to use it and a AC outlet controlled by the Hydros instead.

My ECOTECH Radion X15s, ECOTECH Versa S2 return pumps, and ECOTECH MP40s all run on 32VDC. Bummer. I was super onboard with a Kraken until I checked the ECOTECH power supplies.

Any chance you could use a different Meanwell power supply that supports 32V? Or offer a 32VDC version of the Kraken?

You can get 12-24v DC to 32vDC converters but it is a DIY. There is a thread in the forum about how to do this. It would take either 12-24V DC input and output 32v so it should work in either low power mode or regular mode as long as none of the limits of either Kraken port or the converter are exceeded.

This is a bit off topic from the norm, I’m contemplating connecting the kraken to the XP8. Is that an ideal set up?

My guess is "no", but I'm following along to see what others say. I plan to have two XP8s plugged into the wall, and if I can somehow still use a Kracken that'd be awesome!
