My guess is "no", but I'm following along to see what others say. I plan to have two XP8s plugged into the wall, and if I can somehow still use a Kracken that'd be awesome!
The XP8's have to be plugged into the wall for the AC outlets on them to work. If you want to plug the Kraken power supply into an XP8 I would not do that. For one if something were to happen to the XP8 you would also loose power to the Kraken. It Kraken power supply is plugged into another source of AC power Then you would not loose both controllers.

This is a bit off topic from the norm, I’m contemplating connecting the kraken to the XP8. Is that an ideal set up?

Will work but maybe not the best idea. XP8 supports up to 8A on any individual outlet or 14A aggregate across all outlets. Kraken, in theory, could consume 4A of the 14A total. Depending upon tank size, add a heater, lights and a few pumps into the mix and you may be asking for trouble. Guess it all depends on what else you plan on powering with the XP8.

@Danny the power cable going from the Kraken to the battery, can that be purchased separately? I want to add a battery level meter which will be roughly 3-4' away from the battery so I would need a new cable to wire that into the cycle, I want the same exact cable.

Does anyone know what it means or have any examples for the Redsea products.
“Non-Standard, must DIY special waterproof connector”

Im running a reefmat 1200 off of a kracken drive port, I just cut the connector off the original power cord and spliced on a drive cable extension. I just checked the polarity with a volt meter to make sure it was right, been running this way for two years no issues

Apologies for these questions, im trying to decide if I will switch to hydros. One thing that might help sway me is if the new return pumps I am thinking of buying could be controlled via the Kraken.

They are Seatorch Xpower. These come with their own Meanwell power brick that I assume screws into on of the two cables shown in the photo below.

Does kraken force port cables have this same type of conn3ction or are they only available with the typical 12v style barrel plug?
