Hi, I know this is quite an old thread. But I’m a complete noob to electronics world. What else would I need to get this working. I can buy these pins, the drive port cable for hydros. Then do I need to cut the reefmat power cord ? Or the hydros cord ? The reefmat plug needs to have 2 pins and the hydros cord has a barrel jack.

You need the Hydros Drive cable, not the Force port. The ReefMat uses a M11 connector. You can cut the power cord and splice or make your own cord with the M11. I did both on two separate aquariums. The simple method is cutting the power cord that came with the reefmat. You can always splice it back. I replied on another thread about this....with a picture.

This might work HYDROS Drive Port Cable
you might have to adapt the 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel connector to another type if it doesnt fit. These types of kits can do that adapting Amazon.com
